چکیده

Shale stabilization is very significant during drilling to avoid wellbore stability issues. Water based fluid results into shale swelling on contact with formation. Different additives are added in the mud which inhibits by stabilizing charge clay surface. Various polymers and different Deep Eutectic Solvents (DES) have been proven be successful inhibitors, but their performance can further improved using a combination of polymer DES. This research features double action P-D (Polymer – Solvent|) inhibitor formulated Potassium Carbonate DES modified oxazoline compares its inhibition KCl (Potassium Chloride). Copper Electrodeposition from a Water-Containing Choline Chloride Based Deep Eutectic Solvent

This study investigated the effect of water on the physical and electrochemical properties of a choline chloride deep eutectic solvent (DES). Physical and electrochemical measurements were performed on the DES containing varying amounts of water. When the water content was increased from 1% to 15 wt%, the viscosity and density declined while the conductivity increased significantly. Similarly, ...

Effect of Polyanionic Cellulose Polymer Nanoparticles on Rheological Properties of Drilling Mud

Polyanionic cellulose polymer is used as an additive in drilling mud in order to decrease water loss and mudcake- thickness. In this study effect of bulk and nanosize polyanionic cellulose on water loss and mud-cakethickness in mud drilling is investigated. Polyanionic cellulose nanoparticles are made by using of ball milling. Size of nanoparticles is measured by Particle size analyzer. Polyani...

Shale Stability: Drilling Fluid Interaction and Shale Strength

This paper presents main results of a shale stability study, related to the understanding of shale/ fluid interaction mechanisms, and discusses shale strength correlation. The major shale/ fluid interaction mechanisms: Capillary, osmosis, hydraulic, swelling and pressure diffusion, and recent experimental results are discussed. Factors affecting the shale strength are discussed, and a sonic com...

Thermo-sensitive polymer nanospheres as a smart plugging agent for shale gas drilling operations

Emulsifier-free poly(methyl methacrylate-styrene) [P(MMA-St)] nanospheres with an average particle size of 100 nm were synthesized in an isopropyl alcohol-water medium by a solvothermal method. Then, through radical graft copolymerization of thermo-sensitive monomer N-isopropylacrylamide (NIPAm) and hydrophilic monomer acrylic acid (AA) onto the surface of P(MMA-St) nanospheres at 80 °C, a seri...

Efficient Synthesis of Dihydropyrimidine and Amidoalkyl Naphthol Derivatives Using Zinc Chloride-Based Deep Eutectic Systems as Solvent & Catalyst

Dihydropyrimidine and amidoalkyl naphthol derivatives have been prepared efficiently in a one-pot synthesis using ZnCl2/urea and ZnCl2/acetamide deep eutectic systems as reaction medium and homogeneous catalyst. This method offers some advantages such as simple procedure, inexpensive solvent and catalyst and good yields of the final products in short reaction times. The use of non-toxic and env...
